Dr. Polly Huang (Periodontics Specialist)
Dr. Polly Huang was born in Taipei and raised in Vancouver, Canada. She graduated at the top of her class from the University of British Columbia, receiving the prestigious Gold Medal Award, and worked as a dental hygienist for six years before pursuing further education. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the University of Pittsburgh and later completed her specialty training in Periodontics at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Huang is experienced in all aspects of periodontal care—from treating advanced cases of periodontitis (a serious gum infection that leads to the loss of bone and gum support around the teeth) to placing dental implants and repairing gum recession by rebuilding healthy, protective gum tissue using minimally invasive microsurgical techniques. This includes technique-sensitive regenerative procedures to rebuild lost bone and gum support, helping save teeth affected by periodontal disease. Dr. Huang strongly believes in preserving a patient’s natural teeth whenever possible and takes a conservative, individualized approach—always tailoring treatment to each patient’s specific needs and goals. In 2019, she was honored with the Best Case Study Award by the Academy of Osseointegration for her work on “Ridge Augmentation of the Atrophic Maxilla.” She previously served as the lead implant educator at RipeGlobal, where she taught dentists around the world and helped design the implant fellowship curriculum. She has also spoken internationally on topics such as peri-implantitis, guided tissue regeneration, and gum grafting. Dr. Huang is fluent in both Mandarin and English, making communication easy and comfortable for a diverse range of patients. Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling, trying new cuisines, and sneaking in as many cuddles as she can with her baby girl. Dr. Huang is a member of the American Association of periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Canadian Academy of Periodontology, Canadian Dental Association, and the BC Dental Association. Dr. Huang is also a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. A diplomate is a board certified periodontist who has made substantial accomplishments beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty.
